ADHD Coach Mentoring: A Learning Collaboration
What is Coach Mentoring?
Coach mentoring is a collaborative relationship in which one person with more experience or expertise helps to facilitate the growth and learning of another. It is a relationship guided by mutual focus on the enhancement of the protege's or mentee's development in all aspects of coaching. It is the sharing of knowledge, insight into issues, alternative perspectives, experiences and opportunities for growth by the mentor that generate more rapid and satisfactory results for the mentee.
How does the ADHD Coach-Mentor© program work?
The ADHD Coach-Mentor© program is designed in several stages. The first stage involves laying the groundwork. This first phase focuses on preparing both of us for the mentor/mentee relationship.
The second stage involves building the framework for the mentoring. You will set specific goals and benchmarks for your success. Both of our roles and responsibilities will be defined, methods of accountability established and guidelines for helping the relationship run smoothly discussed.
The third stage of the mentoring process is the developmental phase. This stage is the longest and where you will experience the most growth. During this stage I will actively support your learning, uphold your vision of coaching and challenge you to your fullest. This will be done through reflection of your progress and re evaluation of your goals.
The fourth and final stage in mentoring is closure. In this phase, we will evaluate our work together, complete your last objectives, celebrate your accomplishments and plan for future options.
